Ambiente is situated on Goodramgate just inside the ancient walls of the historic city of York. We offer an extensive range of tasty, innovative Spanish & Mediterranean themed dishes served in a stylish & contemporary setting - with a hint of rustic charm thrown in.

Our menu presents a wide selection of tapas which sees old favourites like Patatas Bravas and Calamares alongside some more unusual dishes that explore our interest in fusion – Albondigas (meatballs) served in a creamy lemongrass & chilli sauce, or our Morcilla (blackpudding) scotch eggs being two such examples. Whatever your likes or dislikes and regardless of how adventurous you are, we are confident that we can guarantee a really memorable dining experience at Ambiente. In addition to this we offer a daily Lunch & Brunch menu which features our own interpretations of classic breakfasts from around the world, alongside some more familiar old favourites.

Our range of mostly Spanish wines is extensive and includes organic & vegan options. Our selection criteria for these wines is always based on quality, so you can be confident that whatever your taste one of our wines will fit the bill.

As for our espresso-based coffee, we use a combination of freshly roasted & blended Arabica beans from York’s own Coffee Emporium with a classic Italian La Spaziale espresso machine to produce coffees with an outstanding depth of flavour.
