An Insight Into Paella

Paella (pronounced Pa-e-ya) is one of Spain’s most famous dishes. Its name derives from La Paella, which is the name of the cooking pan rather than the dish itself. Defining what goes in to a paella is near impossible however, as it changes from region to region and from chef to chef, with each claiming that theirs is the ‘true’ Paella.

Meating The Butchers Block

It’s National Butchers Week, so it seems like a good time to tell you a little bit about our own meat & poultry supplier – The Butchers Block of York. If you have a keen eye for detail you may have seen them around, their eye-catching delivery vehicle has a vinyl wrap that gives it a distinctly bovine appearance, it even has a pair of horns above the windscreen! But there is much more to The Butchers Block than fancy dress vans, which is why we have been using them week in week out since 2010 when we opened our original York restaurant. (more…)
