FOSSGATE FESTIVAL April 18, 2017June 4, 2019 Sophie Thorpe Fossgate is one of York’s oldest streets and is much loved by locals and visitors alike. Lined with independent shops, cafes and bars, and home to the beautiful Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, the street has bags of character and puts on a party like no other. #FossFest is a unique way to experience York city life and enjoy Fossgate’s unique independent offerings in a family-friendly, continental-style street atmosphere. Relax in one of the street’s cafes or bars, peruse the shops and stalls, play games with the kids, walk the dog, meet local charities, listen to some live music or get up and dance! Ambiente Tapas Fossgate will be hosting al fresco dining and serving street food paella, as well as being open for regular dining. The festival runs from 12pm-7:30pm. Bars and restaurants will remain open later according to their usual opening hours. The street will be closed to vehicles and free reign will be given to pedestrians. Admission is free to all.
