I haven’t dined at Ambiente before. How do I go about ordering?

If you haven't dined with us before, then don't worry! We'll have you ordering tapas like a Spanish pro in no time!

To tapas really means to hop from bar to bar, enjoying a drink whilst nibbling on a Tapa or two along the way. Whilst we can't fully replicate this by having you table-hop around our restaurant every time you order, we are big advocates of ordering and enjoying a few tapas and then re-ordering when you're ready. This allows you to spend more time enjoying your food and company, which is what tapas is all about.

Make a start with our nibbles and drinks while you browse our hot tapas menu and then we recommend ordering 3 - 4 tapas dishes per person when you're ready. In true tapas-style, our dishes will come out when they are ready. Which means some may come out more quickly than others and sometimes you may get them all at once.

To tapas means to share, allowing you and your tapas compadres to try something new when you visit and make up your own meal from various dishes. But we won't judge if you want to keep them all to yourself. Everyone has that one dish that is just too good to share...

Booking a table

I want to book a table, how do I do this?

Though you don’t need to book a table to dine with us, we do recommend pre-booking, especially during our busier times on a Friday and Saturday.

For tables up to 6 people, you can book by calling the restaurant you would like to dine in or book online on by heading to the restaurant you’d like to dine in.

Please note that for all bookings, we kindly request to hold your card details during the booking process to secure your table. We will only charge your card in the case that you do not show for your table without contacting us prior to your booking. Our cancellation fee is £10 per person.

Do your restaurants have disabled access?

We have disabled access in our Fossgate, Hull and Tabanco by Ambiente restaurant. Due to the building layout, we unfortunately don’t have disabled access in our Leeds restaurant. Our Goodramgate restaurant has two stairs leading up to our bar area and a further two steps up to our restaurant area and disabled toilet.

Will I have to pay a deposit to book?

For all bookings, you will be asked to provide card details which will be stored securely by our card processing provider - Stripe. We will only charge your card in the case that you fail to arrive.

In this case you will be charged £10 per person. You will receive an email from our payment processing provider once we have reserved your table asking for your card details. You will then have 24 hours to input your card details & secure your table.

What happens if I've confirmed my table with my card details but can no longer attend?

The sooner we know that you cannot attend the more time we have to offer your table to other diners. The £10 charge is discretionary on our part and is not intended to penalise diners that have a genuine reason preventing them from attending.

I’d like to minimize my contact with your team when dining with you. Is there another way to order other than face to face?

We have introduced an Order & Pay At Table facility that allows you to order & pay for your meal on your smartphone by logging onto a specific page on our website for you to order and pay for your tapas. We will give you the details when you join us in the restaurant. We’ll provide you with your table number, which you’ll need to enter to order your tapas. Then just place your order through our app, pay for your order and our team will then bring the tapas to your table when it’s ready.

If you’d like to order more, just scan the QR code that our waiting team will give you and you can easily order more food and drinks with minimal effort.

Can I pay with cash?

To minimize risk to customers and team we will be operating as a cashless business.

Will I still be able to leave a tip?

In line with the above, we are requesting that no cash tips are left. There will, however, be a discretionary service charge option on the checkout page of the “order at table” platform should you wish to show your appreciation for the service you have received.

Food & dietary requirements

I’m vegan – what can I have?

We’re really proud of our vegan and vegetarian offering and our selection is large! You’ll find our vegetarian and vegan dishes under our Vegetable Tapas section on our menu. Our vegetarian dishes are labelled (V) and our vegan dishes are labelled (vg).

Please do inform your waiter of any dietary requirements when you arrive and they will be more than happy to take you through our menu.

I have an allergy or dietary requirement – can I still dine with you?

Yes absolutely! Please inform our team when dining with us of any allergies, intolerances or dietary choices when you arrive. And they will help you choose dishes that are suitable for you and make recommendations.

Each dish on our menu also includes details of any allergens present in the dishes so that you can see which dishes are suitable, and which aren’t!

All our managers, waiters and chefs are thoroughly trained on the fourteen main allergens required by the FSA, as well as garlic and onion.

Do you offer experiences or wine?

Anything else?

We regret that due to the terms of our Premise Licence we are not permitted to allow entry to unaccompanied minors (under 18 years of age) even if it is for food served without alcohol.
