We’re excited to collaborate with York Whisky Club once again on our Whisky x Sherry II Tasting Experience as part of the York Food Festival this September!

During our tasting, you’ll enjoy four whiskies that have been treated to dual maturation, finishing their ageing process in sherry casks ranging from dry to sweet.

Whiskies matured in sherry casks are highly regarded for their rich and complex flavours, which are significantly influenced by the sherry that previously occupied the casks. The interplay between the sherry-soaked wood and the whisky creates expressions in the whisky that offer added depth and complexity. Tasted alongside their sherry-style counterparts will allow you to appreciate the the unique sherry characteristics found within each whisky. And at our tasting experience, you get to experience them alongside each other!

During our four-course tasting experience, Jasper and Jim from York Whisky Club will showcase four whiskies matured in sherry casks. Our very own Sherry Knight, Rob Scott-South, will present their sherry-style counterparts alongside the whiskies.

No Ambiente tasting experience would be complete without an exclusive tasting menu either! So Johnny and our team will be on-hand with an exclusive four-course tasting menu designed to complement both the sherries and the whiskies!

York Whisky Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to sharing a passion for whisky with as many people as possible.

Founded in 2022, York Whisky Club embarked on a mission to introduce whisky enthusiasts and newcomers alike to the diverse and fascinating world of whisky. They proudly participated in the York Food and Drink Festival, where they curated paired tastings with cheese and chocolate, showcasing the versatility and depth of whisky. Their year culminated in a Christmas Micro-Festival, bringing the atmosphere and excitement of a larger festival to the growing York Whisky Community.
